The past few days here in the Pacific Northwest have been gorgeous! Lots of afternoon sunshine, blue skies, and the sounds of our kiddos squealing with delight as they play every game from hide-n-seek, to “let’s build an underground house.” They’ve been running, jumping, skipping, rolling, crawling, and pedaling (bikes, of course) for hour upon endless hour. They’re smiling, giggling, laughing, even singing. They seem to be full of joy, and in joy.
When was the last time you spent even 5 minutes of unstructured, free time, being, well...totally free--Free to laugh, smile, giggle, twirl, skip, roll, dance, leap, bound, even sprint?
How much better would you feel if you allowed yourself a tiny 5 minutes each day to move your body in pure bliss? Would the quality of your life and relationships (with yourself included) improve if you gave yourself the freedom to move in any way that brought you pure delight? Play as you did when you were a child. Move with freedom, confidence, and happiness. Wiggle and squiggle with wild abandon. Set out to have fun--five minutes of fun movement, that’s it. (If 5 tiny minutes just isn’t enough for you, go for more!) We think a little Exuberant Movement could change your life.
After all that fun moving around in joy you will be hungry. Make a Vibrant Vegan Salad!
Place several large handfuls of your favorite salad greens in your favorite salad bowl. Chop a few tablespoon-sized servings of fresh herbs (basil, oregano, thyme, chives, etc.) and add to your greens-in-a-bowl. Chop and add any fresh or cooked veggies you have on hand and toss those in too. If you just happen to have some tofu or cooked/canned beans available, of course! Pour those in to your SuperDuper Vibrant Vegan Salad!
Now, for the dressing, drizzle your favorite vinegar over the top, along with some freshly ground pepper, and a sprinkling of salt. Add a tablespoon of your favorite oil if you think that would make it even more super.
Eat a salad everyday. Practice Nutritional Excellence!
