Exercises for Weight Loss

Body Toning Exercises for Weight Loss!

One of the keys to being a Vibrant Vegan is practicing Exuberant Movement- joyful, playful exercise.

Kirsten is back with another Exuberant Movement session you can do almost anywhere. This session consists of 5 body toning exercises done as a flow. This flow will get your heart rate up, burn calories, and make you stronger! The movements are all body weight exercises so you won't need any equipment--Just your magnificent body.

The Workout

Do all five exercises for weight loss with the best form you can, freely modifying any movement to suit your fitness level-make this movement session as intense or as easy as you need it to be.Do each exercise 6 times before flowing to the next. Try to flow through the sequence 3 times.

The Exercises:

Jump Rolls-Feet shoulder width apart, squat down and roll back to your shoulders, keeping your chin tucked under so you don't hit your head. Roll back up, stand and jump. If you have a little box or bench and want to intensify this movement, jump up onto it.

Burpee Rolls- Transition your jump rolls into these burpee rolls. Move from standing position to push-up position, back to standing with or without a jump, squat down and roll back to your shoulders. Roll up and repeat.

Breakdancer- Start in a crouch position(hands and feet on the floor) Lift your left hand and step your right foot out to the left side of your body. Return to center and then repeat on left side. (Do 6 of these per side)

T-Stand Rotations- Start in a push-up position and rotate your right hand up into the air so your right shoulder is directly above your left shoulder. Rotate back to the floor with your right hand and repeat on the left side. (Do 6 of these per side)

Bridge Reaches- Start laying on your back with your knees bent. Push your hips straight up into the air as you rotate your upper body to the left and reach with your right hand over your left shoulder. Repeat on the opposite side. (Do 6 of these per side)

Remember to modify to an intensity appropriate for you.

Whether you use these exercises for weight loss or just to stay lean, strong and fit the most important thing is to have while you workout. Exercise in joy.
