They are cultivated in many parts of the world and the US is one of the world's largest producers. And did you know the Concord variety is the only North American native?
Nutritionally, they are a good source of the following nutrients:
Vitamin C
Vitamin B6
Potassium
Manganese
And as you've probably heard,they are high in numerous antioxidants, which have been shown to:
help lower blood pressure
help lower cholesterol
help in the prevention of heart disease and certain cancers

GRAPE-CUCUMBER SALAD/SALSA
Here's another tasty, refreshing, quick and easy dish you can eat anytime, anywhere, and with anyone! This Grape treat contains just 200 calories, so feel free to add some chopped nuts for some added crunch if you're wanting a few more calories.
Ingredients:
3 cups grapes (any variety), chopped
1 cucumber, chopped into small pieces
1/4 onion, diced (sweeter is better)
1 jalapeno pepper, diced
juice of 1 lime
Preparation:
Put the grapes, cucumber, onion, and pepper into a bowl. Squeeze the lime juice, or pour the juice over everything in the bowl and toss. That's it! You're going to love love love this yummy Low Fat, Raw Vegan treat! (If you're looking for something more salsa-textured, food processor the grapes and onion before adding them to the bowl and mixing with everything else.)
