Day 26 of the 30 Day Raw Vegan Fruit Project

Raw Vegan Fruit Project:

The luscious and lovely fruit for today is the LEMON!

They are a great source of:


Fiber

Potassium

Copper

Iron

Vitamin C and B6

-They are diuretic (makes you pee, or helps your body rid waste and water via peeing), thus can help treat urinary tract infections and arthritis.

-They can help stop gum bleeds and nosebleeds (the juice, of course).

-Rub onto your skin and you'll help prevent sunburn!

-The Ancient Romans considered them to be a cure-all for different types of poisoning.

-Applying the juice directly to an aching tooth may help stop the ache.

-They have also been shown to help treat coughs, colds, asthma, heartburn, liver problems, and fevers.

-"The liver can make more enzymes out of fresh lemon juice than any other food element." From Dr. Beddoe and his book, Biological Ionization in Human Nutrition.

-They are a great source of flavonoids, which have been shown to have antioxidant and cancer-preventing properties.

and now for your LOW FAT, RAW VEGAN RECIPE!

GREEN LEMONADE

Refreshing, sweet, sour, loaded with nutrients--this may be the bestest lemonade in the universe, and it contains just about 300 calories!

Ingredients:

2 lemons, peeled (use one if you're not a big fan of tart and sour)

5 dates, pitted and soaked for a couple of hours if possible (use the soak water too)

1 cucumber, cut into chunks

1 handful spinach

1 quart water

Preparation:

Toss all of the above amazing ingredients into your high-speed blender...blend and blend away, until you have a blender full of the most lively lemonade ever!

Eat bushels and bushels of fruit!
