Pregnancy started my raw journey

When I was pregnant with my daughter I had trouble keeping down cooked foods. First it was meat and then it was anything cooked. A friend told me about raw veganism and I decided to give it a try.

I had the best pregnancy EVER! I believe it was due to light exercise and a raw diet. I like to joke that when I was pregnant with my daughter the raw food gave me happy hormones. All I know is that I've never felt more alive, healthy, clear headed, and internally clean.

My daughter was born 9 lbs 10 oz naturally and at home.

I stayed raw for another 3 months and for a few more months I ate vegetarian. Eventually I went back to a cooked omni diet. Eventually I slipped into SAD.

I have to say that I felt so great when I was pregnant and for a few months after while I was raw vegan. I was so healthy and vibrant and now (5 years later) I'm going back to raw. I've done it on and off for the past 5 years. There's something different now.

The difference this time is that I'm more committed than ever to take care of myself and do what I know in my heart is the right thing to do. Exercise, raw veganism, and meditation are helping me heal from years of unhealthy diet and living.

I suggest a raw diet to everyone. Even if you're not 100% raw or vegan, you can still incorporate many raw dishes into your diet. There are some people who are 50% raw and others who are 90% raw.
