Can you believe it is day 31 of our 100-Day Raw Food & Fitness Challenge? It seems like the first month flew by.
On our run today Kirsten and I were talking about how consistent we have been and how far we have gone on our runs . Out of 31 days we have only missed one due to ice.(We worked out inside that day.) Since we have been averaging about 5.5 miles a day, we have run about 165 miles since the beginning of our challenge. It feels good knowing we have achieved something like this.
Our Goal
Our goal is to maintain this this consistency and run 550 miles by the end of our challenge. That is quite a few miles. We could never run that far all at once. The only way to achieve something big like this is to chip away at it. Of course, the first thing that came to mind while we were talking about this was the Chinese Proverb-The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. What the proverb doesn't say is that the journey is completed by single steps too, one taken after the other. That is how anything worthwhile is accomplished.
How To Achieve Anything
As Vegan Lifestyle and Fitness Coaches, we have met many people who are stuck, frozen in place, totally discouraged by the size of their goals. The trick is to realize that the achievement of your great big goals is accomplished by doing little things, single steps, day after day. The only way Kirsten and I will achieve our goal of eating a low-fat raw food vegan diet and working out everyday for 100 days is to it one day at a time. There is no other way. When you realize that to achieve your biggest goals, all you have to do is take care of the present moment, you are empowered to take action.
If you want to be healthy and fit, take it one day at a time. Eat a healthy, whole food vegan diet today. Exercise today. Then do it again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.
