Raw Food & Fitness-Day 38

Eating a vegan raw food diet has made us more aware of how what we do as parents shapes the lives of our children.

Eris and Max are both eating things we couldn't even get them to try before going raw. What they eat today will determine their health as an adult.

We often here people use their children as excuses not to exercise or eat a healthy diet. Saying things like: "With 2 kids I just don't have the time to exercise." "It is so hard to eat healthy because I have children."

The really sad thing about using children as an excuse not to be healthy is that it hurts them as much as you.

It hurts them because, when you don't live a healthy lifestyle you teach your children, through your actions, how to live a disease producing lifestyle. You set them up for a lifetime of struggling with their weight, for heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

Plus, by not exercising and eating a healthy plant-based diet, you diminish the quality of your life and your child's experience of you.

Our children are constantly looking to us to learn how to live.

What can you do today, for yourself, that enhances the lives of those you love?
