Which is the higher good, corporate profit or public health? I think public health is the higher good. I think we should be telling the truth about what makes people healthy/sick, regardless of the impact on some corporations bottom line. What do you think?
Today on Good Morning America they did a segment on the extremely poor dental health in the children of Appalachia.
Apparently Pepsi Co's Mountain Dew is extremely popular in this region of the U.S. There was a dentist who said the reason the children's dental health was so abysmal is because of all the Mountain Dew and other soda they drink. They showed footage of a father filling his 2 year old child's bottle with soda.
Well, Good Morning America, making sure the ad revenue generated through Pepsi ads was safe, read a disclaimer issued by Pepsi saying that it was unfair to single out soda when there are myriad factors that cause dental decay.
The dentist said the rotten teeth were the result of the massive quantities of soda being consumed.
Why can't we just tell the truth here? Drinking this junk rots your teeth. Soda is not health food. It does nothing for your health and wellbeing.
Why should corporations selling junk food profit at your expense?
Eat raw fruits and veggies and profit yourself instead.
