Here are 2 things Kirsten and I have noticed eating a low-fat raw food diet:
1) Shopping for food is simple.
When we go to the grocery store we only visit on part of the store-the produce department. Everything we eat is right there. Next time you are at the store notice the size of the produce department in relation to the rest of the store. It is amazing how little space is devoted to whole, unprocessed raw food.
Most of the store is devoted to packaged, processed, fractionated, denatured, unhealthy food products.
Where are you getting the majority of your food, the produce dept. or the rest of the store?
2) The rhythm of our day has changed.
Our day used to be punctuated with 3 distinct meals. Not anymore. Now we just graze on fruits and veggies until we feel satisfied. When we feel hungry, we eat. The kids pretty much do the same thing.
Meal planning is a thing of the past. Kirsten and I used to spend some time every day talking about "What should we eat for dinner today." Now all the stress of meal planning is gone. When we are hungry we just pick up an apple, slice a cucumber or eat a pear. We just eat whole foods
