Raw Food & Fitness-Day 55

It's Day 55 of our 100 Day Raw Food and Fitness Journey, and today I made a Vegan Carrot Cake. Nope, it wasn't raw. Nope, I didn't lick the spoon, nor eat even the tiniest crumb! This was a first for me. (Were it not for this Journey, I'd have eaten at least a cup of the batter, and 1/2 of the baked cake!)

Temptation

Why in the world would I want to tempt myself in such a horrible way, you're wondering...Well, my siblings are here for a visit, and it's my sister's birthday. I wanted to make something special for her, she asked, I love her so, and I didn't want to say 'no'. But goodness gracious was I freaked-out I'd blow this whole Raw Food and Fitness Journey for myself! I didn't though...

Mindfulness

For some reason, I was much more mindful of each step of the cake making and baking process (mindfulness actually helps--duh!), and as I was putting each ingredient in, I was "tasting" the batter in my mind (you know, sort of remembering the flavor), and I realized that Vegan Carrot Cake (which is the best Vegan Carrot Cake in the universe--no kidding! If you want the recipe, e-mail me), no matter how outstanding and magical it tasted, it wasn't worth ruining all I've accomplished and been through on this Journey.

Remember

No cooked food, no matter how delicious, is not worth sacrificing how amazing I'm feeling! I wouldn't trade cooked food greatness for my raw food magnificence. No cooked food is worth giving up the health and vitality I'm experiencing on this 100-Day Raw Food and Fitness Journey.
