Raw Food & Fitness-Day 61

Weird?

Why is there such little support for eating a Raw Food Vegan Diet? Why do people feel what Derrick and I are doing is "weird"?

We are living beings. We are a living system. Why is it "normal" to eat dead foods, whether it's dead animals, dead animal milk, or even dead grains?

We're Alive!

I just started thinking about this...we're alive, so why is it not more normal and accepted to eat living foods? I have no answers to any of these questions, but I find it baffling how acceptable it is in this society to eat pure garbage, yet considered strange and odd to eat foods that truly support a healthy life! (And I'm not talking about salmon, tuna, low fat dairy, and lean protein--aka meat! These foods seem to be common "health foods" included in most popular diets theses days.)

Yes, we're encouraged to eat more fruits and veggies, but this encouragement is typically followed by a giggle or jeer ("It's tough, we know. But these really are good for you. Mix these in with your salmon and you're good to go.) Raw food, fruits and veggies are seen more as supplements to a diet, rather than the center, or the bulk of what we should be eating. But these living foods are the only foods that are just that--living... and we're alive, aren't we!

So let's stop criticizing and labeling those of us who want to be healthy and truly live. We need to support one another on our health-seeking journeys, not jab and jeer because we don't fill our bodies with death. Start living, and start eating as many living foods as you can!
