Raw Food & Fitness-Day 73

It is day 73 of our Raw Food & Fitness Journey!

Just wanted to share a little update, a "what's for dinner?" update...

Tonight (it's been this way for the last week or so) Derrick and I will have a huge bowl of one head of kale each plus 1/2 to 1 head of romaine lettuce each (kale and lettuce rinsed and chopped into cute little bite-sized pieces, of course). Along with the greens we'll have 3-5 pieces of fruit (apples, bananas, oranges this time of year).

It's an easy, simple meal. Rinsing and chopping are all the preparing we do. And those nights we eat just a bunch of fruit, well, even easier! What to eat and how to prepare what we eat should be easy. It is easy...if we look to what Mother Nature has provided for us. So much time and energy goes into planning meals, especially dinners in this country, and we spend much of that time either anxious, stressed, or wishing we were doing something else!

The Perfect Meal?

It's fun to make a big meal every now and then, but it's not necessary several days each week. So give yourself permission to eat fruit for dinner! A raw food meal of fruit is the easiest, healthiest "dinner food" you could choose! Add some greens to that fruit (a fruit and greens salad?) and you have the perfect meal--truly--very little prep time, very little mess, but full of flavor and nutrients galore!

Health is simple

Move your body and eat whole, vegan, raw foods. Make sure you're eating tons of raw fruits and veggies, then exercise! That's it,--move and eat good foods. Yes, health is simple.

Don't complicate your lives any more than you have to--I actually think simplifying your eating/meals by making them more raw and vegan-centered will have a "simplifying effect" on your entire life. Simpler foods, fewer ingredients, less time spent preparing those foods, and more time for you to be a healthier, more alive person.

Like Derrick and I, let yourself enjoy a bunch of fruit for dinner.
