It's Day 76 of our 100-Day Raw Food and Fitness Journey. We've coined a new phrase (Derrick did actually)--the "Cascade of Positive Actions," it's when you start doing one healthy thing, then the effects of that healthy thing "cascade" into other healthy behaviors.
Earlier today, a friend was telling me how she's started running again, and after those runs she loves to make herself a big greens-filled smoothie! She said she feels so great after exercise, she wants to fill herself with super healthy foods. She's also started eating more salads throughout the day and is trying to add more raw foods, fruits and veggies into her family's meals.
It began with something as simple as a 30-minute run and cascaded into green smoothies, salads, and more fresh produce & raw foods for the entire family.
It seems to me, when we're feeling good, being thoughtful in our life-enhancing actions, making healthy choices, our lives get better! Imagine that! When we do "good" for ourselves, we feel better and better, and want to continue doing better things for ourselves.
So go for a run, take a brisk walk, do some push-ups, eat a big salad, be vegan for a day--do something truly good, healthy, kind, and nourishing for yourself, and I can almost guarantee that you'll want to do another and another and another truly nourishing thing for yourself. It doesn't have to be big, but the effects (if you tune into how you're really feeling after you do the "good thing") over the long run will be enormous! Let the "Cascade of Positive Actions" become part of your life, and soon you'll be living a richer, more vibrant life!
