Raw Food & Fitness-Day 8

The first week of our 100-day Raw Food & Fitness Challenge is over and Kirsten and I are feeling fantastic.

Kirsten and I have dabbled with being raw and we never make it more than a week without eating cooked food.

Before starting this challenge, we ate raw until dinner. Then we'd usually eat things like: cooked potatoes, beans, rice and tofu, and steamed veggies. By most standards we were consuming a very healthy vegan diet. We both feel more energetic and alive eating 100% raw food.(Could that be because the foods we are eating are more energetic and alive?) At this point I can't think of a good reason(other than the taste of a delicious vegan pizza) to eat cooked food again.

I think people can be very healthy on a cooked, whole food vegan diet. We certainly were. It just feels like our vibrancy is increasing as we eat a raw foods diet. I feel bad for people eating the Standard American Diet. They either have no idea how crummy they feel or they are unwilling to change their diets and start exercising. Or, they just haven't made the connection between what they eat and their health.

What You Eat... The old saying is true. You really are what you eat. More precisely, what you eat becomes you. You turn what you eat into your body. What does that mean? It means you can only be as healthy and vibrant as the foods you eat.

Do this quick self-assessment:

How healthy are you?

Are you at a weight you are happy with?

Do you have plenty of energy?

Do you feel vibrant and healthy?

Do you have heart disease, diabetes or cancer?

Look What You've Done

You have eaten yourself to whatever state of health you are in. The quality of your food determines the quality of your health.If you eat the Standard American Diet (SAD) you can expect standard American health. We are fattest, least healthy first world country on the planet.

We also eat the largest amounts of meat, dairy products, refined grains and sugar.

Change what you eat and change your weight, your health, and your life.
