If you are watching this, you probably aren't new to the mainstream idea that too much red meat isn't great for your health(We of course think that any red meat is too much). Now, a huge new study called Meat Intake and Mortality, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, that involved more than 545,000 people -- ages 50 to 71 -- over a period of 10 years confirms what we already new, diets high in red meat increase our risk of premature death.
The study concludes that those who eat diets high in red meat and processed meats have a increased risk of death from cancer and heart disease.
In men, those who ate the most red meat had a 31% increased risk of dying of cancer and heart disease. Among women, those who ate the most meat saw their risk of dying prematurely jump by 36%.
So if dying prematurely from cancer or heart disease isn't your thing...try raw food, raw vegan food.
