Raw Food & Fitness-Day 84

It's Day 84 of our Raw Food and Fitness Journey!

Whether you're a seasoned "regular" exerciser, or are just embarking on a regular exercise routine, it's EXTREMELY important to add some fun to your workouts! If you absolutely love each and every one of your workouts, well, you've already got the "make it fun" thing figured out. But if each workout is something you dread, or if you have one or two workouts per week you just can't bear to do, then it's time to add some fun.

Yesterday and today's workouts for me began with that overwhelming sense of dread and "I don't want to exercise today." Yesterday I just suffered through my workout, but today I remembered I could listen to some music! (What a concept!) I went out into our garage for some resistance training, turned on some loud, face-paced music with a great "beat," and couldn't help but dance (in between sets, of course)!

After just a few minutes, Max came out (what child can resist loud music) and did some dancing, jumping, and a little resistance training with me. Our garage was filled with loud music and squeals of joy and laughter! What a workout!

The music, working out with my son, and the smiles and laughter made today's exercising a blast. And it all started with some fun music...something as simple as music made my exercise more enjoyable.

So put on some music, dance, take a walk or run with a friend, exercise in some crazy workout clothes, exercise with your kids, blow some bubbles between sets--find something, do anything to make your workout more FUN! (It doesn't have to be wacky everyday, just those days you feel you're starting to feel this exercising stuff isn't for you.)

Whether you're in a rut, bored, just beginning to exercise, or wanting to stay in bed instead of going for a run, remember to enjoy doing this wonderful thing you're doing for yourself. Do something to make today's workout fun!
