Tofu Sticks

Easy and delicious Tofu Sticks!

Here's another quick, simple, versatile, and oh so tasty recipe for almost any meal or occasion. Kids love these! Tofu Sticks are great on their own, dipped in ketchup or salsa, on a sandwich, in salads--the possibilities are endless.

Ingredients:

2 pounds or blocks of tofu (firm tofu is best-and make sure to get non-GMO Organic tofu-it is better for you.)

1 cup nutritional yeast flakes

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground pepper (optional)

1/2 teaspoon Mexican seasoning (optional, instead of pepper of course)

Preperation:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and lightly oil then set aside a baking sheet. Slice the tofu blocks into either slices or sticks--make them as short/long as you want. The thicker the tofu slices, the longer the baking time, of course.

In a small bowl, stir just until mixed the nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper/Mexican seasoning (if you're using either of the last 2 ingredients). Now, simply place a few sticks/slices at a time into the bowl and completely cover the tofu with the nutritional yeast-salt mix.

Place the tofu sticks on your prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes, or until tofu is golden. The cooler the sticks/slices become, the firmer they'll be. Store these in your fridge in a covered container for up to 5 days.
