Do you want a strong, great looking chest and lean, toned arms? If you do, push-ups are for you.
In addition to being one of the best chest and arm exercises, this is an excellent exercise for your core. So, push-ups will also make your tummy flatter.
Holding yourself in a push-up position strengthens and tones your stomach and low back.
Push-ups are a great “anytime, anywhere” move because they don’t require any special equipment and you can do them in small spaces.
Whenever you feel like moving, do this challenging, and very effective exercise.
The Push-up will:
• Strengthen your chest and arms
• Tone your entire arm, of course your chest too
• Strengthen your core
• Give you a stronger, more toned-looking back
• Work your triceps and shoulders
How to do Push-ups:
Lie on the floor, face down.
With your arms slighty more than shoulder-width apart (palms on the floor), tuck your toes under (with straight legs), and press yourself up until your elbows are straight, but not locked.
Slowly, lower yourself back toward the floor.
When you’ve reached that point where your elbows are bent to about 90degrees, push yourself back up.
Repeat this exercise 10-20 times, or until you feel fatigued.
Remember to breathe!
Variations:
To make them easier: Instead of doing push-ups on your toes with straight legs, do them with bent knees.
To make them harder: Rest your left foot on your right heel (push-up with one foot on floor), do a few, then alternate with your right foot on left heel.
Take Away Tip:
Make exercise a part of your daily life. All you have to do is a little bit every day for a lifetime of fantastic results.
